Howdy. Welcome to 「gan·ba·re!」, a new anime and manga store in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
What does 「gan·ba·re!」mean? It’s a romanized version of a japanese word, 頑張れ (pronounced gahn-bah-ray). It roughly translates to “do your best!”. It’s words of encouragement from one friend to another, and that’s what I want to do. Basically, I want to encourage people to discover, explore and share their otaku obsessions.
Right now, I’m just building up inventory and getting all the paperwork going, but hopefully soon we will have a retail location going! I want to be able to build community and host events such as anime/manga clubs, cosplay contests, idol concerts and pack opening events, and it’s hard to do that without a storefront! I’m working on it, I promise! ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
